Martin Nguyen
Martin Nguyen is an Australian mixed martial artist from Sydney of Vietnamese descent and one of the most accomplished fighters in ONE Championship history. A former rugby player, he transitioned to martial arts at the age of 21 and quickly rose through the ranks of professional MMA.
Nguyen became internationally recognized for his explosive knockout power and finishing ability. In 2017 he made history by knocking out Marat Gafurov to capture the ONE Featherweight World Championship and later that same year defeating Eduard Folayang by knockout to win the ONE Lightweight World Championship, becoming the first simultaneous two-division world champion in ONE Championship history.
Following his historic title wins, Nguyen successfully defended his featherweight championship against top contenders including Christian Lee and Jadamba Narantungalag. During this period he also attempted to capture a third world title in the bantamweight division, coming close to becoming the first three-division champion in the promotion’s history.
Competing professionally from 2012 to 2025, Nguyen remained one of the most recognizable and respected athletes in the organization and a long-time contender in the featherweight division.
